WhatsApp users on iPhones could be getting video call support soon [Leaked]

WhatsApp is one of the most popular IM clients currently available in the market. With the addition of features like voice calling, the company has ensured that it maintains its dominance in the industry. A new leak has now revealed yet another potentially game changing feature, but only for iOS users.

The company is bringing video calling to the app according to a couple of leaked screenshots that have surfaced online. It is said that this feature was spotted on version 2.12.16.2, while the current version of WhatsApp for iPhone is at version 2.12.12. This indicates that the next major WhatsApp update for iOS will pack this feature.

In addition to video calling, the next major WhatsApp update will also reportedly support tabbed conversations to keep conversations open simultaneously rather than picking them one by one.

While there are no details or screenshots available for the Android version at the moment, it goes without saying that both the new features will be present in the next major update.

The iOS screenshot shows how there are standard video calling functions available here such as the ability to switch between the front and rear cameras, a microphone mute button as well as a small box which shows you what the person on the other end is seeing. This box can be moved around the screen, similar to other video calling clients.

WhatsApp has done a pretty good job of making this a very capable video calling client. It is said that the feature will work on both WiFi as well as cellular data.
